Fully Funded PhD Positions in AI and Biomedical Modelling

Are you finishing your Master’s degree and wondering what’s next?

Are you interested in AI, mathematical modelling, data science or complex systems, and  want your work to have a real impact on biology and medicine?

Open PhD Projects

  • Artificial Intelligence for Spatiotemporal Processes in Biomedicine, Sottoriva Group
  • Mathematical Modelling of Stochastic Biological Processes, Pinheiro Group

We are looking for curious and motivated young researchers to join two fully funded PhD projects in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano within the PhD Programme in Data Analytics and Decision Sciences .

This PhD opportunity is designed as a journey of growth, where you combine excellent research with guidance, openness and the chance to develop your scientific identity.

Why Human Technopole?

Because you won’t just be doing a PhD. You’ll join a world-class, international and highly collaborative research environment designed to support you on your journey from student to independent scientist.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Work on cutting-edge biomedical research at the interface of AI, mathematics and  biomedicine
  • Learn from internationally recognised scientists
  • Be guided throughout your PhD with structured supervision and dedicated support
  • Collaborate across disciplines in a highly open and interdisciplinary environment
  • Access advanced computational tools and research facilities
  • Attend international conferences and workshops and spend research periods abroad.

And yes, the positions are fully funded.

Who Should Apply?

We’d like to hear from you if you are completing, or have recently completed, a Master’s degree in fields such as:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Data Science
  • Applied Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Engineering
  • Computational Biology
  • Statistics
  • Computer Science

You don’t need to come from a biomedical background. Curiosity, quantitative thinking and motivation matter most.

Ready to Start?

If you want to use AI and mathematical modelling to explore some of the most fascinating challenges in biology and medicine, we’d like to hear from you.
