Andrea Ganna

Andrea is a Senior Group Leader at the Human Technopole, an Associate Professor at FIMM and HiLIFE and a research associate at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. He is also Associate Faculty at the ELLIS Institute Finland and an ELLIS member. Previously he did his post-doc at the Analytical and Translation Genetic Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School/Broad Institute and his PhD at Karolinska Institute. He is a winner of an ERC starting grant and the Leena Peltonen Prize for Excellence in Human Genetics. He has been leading several international consortia, including the COVID-19 host genetic initiative, the largest human genetic study of COVID-19, and the INTERVENE consortium. His research vision is to integrate genetic data and information from electronic health record/national health registries to enhance early detection of common diseases and enable more effective public health interventions. Andrea is the founder of Real World Genetics Oy.
