Gianluca Barco

Gianluca has a significant experience in Health & Safety, Security, Quality and Environmental processes in the chemical industry sector under Seveso and IPPC-IED directives.
He holds a degree in Chemistry from the University of Eastern Piedmont and a PhD in Chemistry (theoretical organic physical-chemistry) from the University of Turin.
After his research experience at the European Commission – Joint Research Centre in Ispra, he continued his career in private and multinational chemical companies (Nuova Solmine, BASF, Bolton Manitoba, Mare) where he covered the roles of HSE manager, Site Manager, Employer and Board Director. He is a member of the Industrial Hygiene Committee of Federchimica and has been for over a decade.
Gianluca is co-author of scientifical publications and books on local history and tradition of his home village in the Alessandria’s district and on safety in everyday life.
He joined Human Technopole in September 2020, as HSE manager, fascinated by the mission of the Foundation and by the idea to guarantee the best health and safety conditions of scientists that will contribute to the well being of people.
