Laura Ghirardi

I am an epidemiologist with interest in women’s health and mental health across the lifespan. In my work I integrate observational data from administrative databases and primary data collections and a wide range of methods from genetic epidemiology, pharmaco-epidemiology and causal inference.
I obtained my PhD in Medical Science (epidemiology program) from the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Karolinska Institutet in October 2019. In my doctoral thesis I explored the causes and consequences of the comorbidity of ADHD with other neurodevelopmental disorders.
After that, I first worked as postdoc researcher in the same department and then as epidemiologist in a contract research organization.
I joined the Zuccolo group in September 2025.
