Casale Group

The Casale Group develops AI and statistical genetics methods to understand how genetic variation shapes human biology and disease. By integrating population-scale genetic data with molecular, cellular, imaging, and clinical information, the group studies disease mechanisms across biological scales.

The group uses human genetic variation as a natural experiment to probe biological systems, and AI to represent and model human biology and derive mechanistic insights. Its research spans learning quantitative biological phenotypes, identifying the cells and tissues through which genetic effects act, and building integrated models of human health and disease.
