The Impact of AI on Health Data

Artificial intelligence and scientific research are increasingly converging, with significant implications for the future of healthcare. As global health challenges grow more complex, AI is emerging not only as a powerful analytical tool but also as an opportunity to reshape healthcare delivery.

This event will explore how policy, legal and regulatory frameworks can enable the scientific and medical use of health and clinical data with AI tools and generate value at the national level.

The program will present European cases where policies and regulations have enabled the use of health data for scientific research and innovation. These include initiatives such as FinnRegistry, the European Testing and Experimentation Facilities for Health (TEF-Health), established by the European Commission, as well as examples from European countries where national regulatory frameworks are supporting the expansion of clinical research.

The discussion will then turn to Italian experiences developed on a smaller scale, showcasing initiatives that enable the use of health data for research. The event will conclude with an overview of Italy’s implementation of the AI Act, followed by an exchange with speakers and participants on the next steps for the country.

The event is part of the MIND Innovation Week and is organised by the Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer, in collaboration with Human Technopole and Federchimica Assobiotec. The event will be held in English.
