Luigi Antonio Lamparelli
- Bioinformatician, National Facility for Genomics
I graduated in Molecular Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at the University of Milan in 2019 where I have participated at the Erasmus program at the Danish Technical University (DTU) with a thesis project on developing a bioinformatics pipeline for ancient metagenomics samples.
Previously, I have been a bioinformatician at Humanitas research hospital in the Gastrointestinal immunopathology lab, cooperating with the Experimental gastroenterology lab at San Raffaele hospital both focused on IBDs and Crohn’s disease. In this period, I was in charge of developing and executing state-of-the-art bioinformatics pipelines for different kinds of omics, such as transcriptomics, epigenomics, genomics, metagenomics and lipidomics from small to large scale projects. I was also developing and maintaining interactive web apps for effective data visualization and exposition of the results.
Now, I am in charge of the production and the primary analysis of the data generated by the National Facility for genomics, developing and executing highly automated and standardized pipelines and supporting the laboratory for new protocols with specific bioinformatics analyses.
