Human Technopole is at the heart of MIND – Milan Innovation District, the city’s innovation district located on the site that hosted EXPO Milano 2015 bringing together public and private partners active in the fields of science, research and innovation.
The Human Technopole campus is made up of five main buildings, covering a surface of roughly 30,000 square metres. We are right next to the Tree of Life and across from the area dedicated to the University of Milan campus.
Palazzo Italia, the former Italian pavilion at EXPO Milano 2015 is our institutional headquarters hosting our governance and administrative offices, meeting rooms as well as dry/computational labs. The building also includes a 240 seat Auditorium, a cafè and restaurant space and two terraces.
The three incubator labs are our among our main laboratory buildings, hosting wet scientists and experimental activities from our five research areas as well as our Genomics Facility and extension of the CryoEM Facility. The North Pavilion is home to our state-of-the art CryoEM Facility and Light Microscopy Facility, while the South Pavilion hosts additional wet laboratory spaces for the expansion of our research activity.
In addition, by 2028 our campus will be completed by an additional building – the South Building, which will host laboratory space for up to 800 scientists, alongside offices, spaces for events, workshops and training courses.
Human Technopole is a life sciences research institute. Our main headquarters is Palazzo Italia, the former Italian Pavilion at Milan EXPO 2015 now known as MIND – Milano Innovation District. We are at the heart of a one million square meter area dedicated to science and innovation, just a 20 minute metro ride from Milan city centre.
We are an international and collaborative institute, open to visitors, guests, students, researchers, families and everyday citizens. Our spaces are available for rent at convenient rates to external partners and stakeholders interested in organising events and initiatives in line with our general mission of developing a knowledge based society and spreading awareness on the importance of scientific research.
