Luca Rotta

I graduated from the University of Milan with a degree in Biotechnology. Following my thesis, I began working in Genomics facility laboratories, gaining experience with cutting-edge technologies.

Since 2015, I have held the roles of Senior Technologist and later Genomics Unit Coordinator in the Department of Experimental Oncology at the European Institute of Oncology. In this role, I was responsible for both next-generation sequencing (NGS) and single-cell sequencing platforms. I collaborated with various research groups, providing support for genomics-focused projects.

Building on my expertise in genomics, in 2021, I took on a dual role as Genomics Unit Coordinator and Scientific Consultant at Tethis. Tethis operates in the diagnostics sector, developing a proprietary pre-analytical system for liquid biopsy. During this time, I helped establishing and implementing molecular methods to test biomarkers (cfDNA, cfRNA, CTCs) derived from blood samples.

I am currently the Senior Manager of the Multi-Omics Technologies Unit at the National Genomics for Genomics. In this role, I lead and manage projects focused on single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and long-read sequencing.

My responsibilities include delivering advanced genomic services to support the scientists at Human Technopole as well as the entire Italian scientific community.
