Roberta Bosotti

Roberta received her degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Milan and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and Bioinformatics from the University of Pavia.

She has spent twenty-five years working in research and development in the oncology field within the Pharma and Biotech sectors. Roberta began her career at Pharmacia and Upjohn as a molecular biologist. She then moved to the Karolinska Institutet’s Center for Genomic Resources in Stockholm, where she started her training in bioinformatics, focusing on identifying protein functional domains.

Later, she joined Nerviano Medical Sciences (formerly Pharmacia) as a bioinformatics researcher. There, she applied bioinformatics and statistical analysis to identify predictive and prognostic biomarkers and potentially new oncological targets, and studied the mechanisms of action of targeted drugs and drug repositioning. At Nerviano Medical Sciences, she held various roles, including Senior Scientist, Genomics and Bioinformatics Group Leader, Project Leader, and Translational Representative.

During her tenure as the head of the Genomics and Bioinformatics Group at Nerviano Medical Sciences, she was involved in several preclinical and clinical projects, coordinating and supervising data generation, handling, and analysis of NGS-based projects.

After a brief teaching experience, Roberta joined Human Technopole, where she currently serves as the Senior Scientific Project Manager for the National Facility of Data Handling and Analysis.
