Silvia Nostro
- PhD Student, Carninci Group
I am a PhD student at the European School of Molecular Medicine (SEMM), based at Human Technopole, where I work in the Carninci Group on the NeuroCoV project. My research centers on analyzing single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data to study transcription initiation in COVID-19 patients affected by NeuroCovid.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology (2019) and a Master’s degree in Molecular Biotechnology and Bioinformatics (2022) from the University of Milan. During my master’s thesis at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), I discovered a deep passion for computational approaches to RNA biology—a complex and largely unexplored field that continues to inspire me. Collaboration and open discussion are fundamental to my work and drive my curiosity in this dynamic area of research.
Outside the lab, I relax by playing the piano or hosting game nights with friends.
