Francesca Giannese

I hold an MSc in Medical Biotechnology from the University of Milano-Bicocca and a PhD in Complex Systems for Life Sciences from the University of Turin, focused on the epigenetic inheritance of complex traits and the impact of early-life stressors.

In 2012, I joined the Genomics Facility at San Raffaele Scientific institute’s Center for Omics Sciences, where I worked on methodology implementation and optimization, with a particular focus on epigenetics, and developed deep expertise in next-generation sequencing. In 2017, I became Coordinator of the Innovation Lab of the Center for Omics Sciences, a research area dedicated to the implementation and development of innovative genomics technologies. There, I was responsible for establishing advanced single-cell platforms (from Drop-seq, to 10X Genomics Chromium), setting-up the single-cell service of the Facility, and co-developing scGET-seq, a single-cell multiomic approach.

In 2024, I joined the Human Technopole’s National Facility for Genomics as Senior Manager of the Technology Development and Method implementation Unit to set up innovative services, and to support the realization of proof-of-concept projects and promote technological development for the scientific community.
