- Research Software Engineer, National Facility for Data Handling & Analysis
I joined Human Technopole in 2024 as a Research Software Engineer in the Bioimage Analysis unit of the National Facility for Data Handling and Analysis. I support research projects with software engineering expertise and develop open-source tools for bioimage analysis—helping make cutting-edge algorithms accessible to the wider scientific community.
I hold a first-class master’s degree in mathematics and physics from the University of Manchester. My master’s project, *Applications of Deep Learning to Limited Angle Computed Tomography*, led me to work in the field of deep learning and image analysis ever since.
Before joining Human Technopole, I worked for three years as a Data Scientist at a start-up that produces proprietary multispectral imaging hardware and offers image analysis as a service in the agri-tech sector. During this time I built and maintained a large image analysis codebase for detecting plant stresses, pests, and diseases. The image analysis service was delivered through a cloud-based pipeline using AWS S3 and SageMaker, which I designed, implemented, and maintained.
