Call for Sponsorship No.03 - Deep Learning for Microscopy Image Analysis (EMBO-DL4MIA)

Submission Deadline: 01/03/2024

Type of event/activity: EMBO Practical Course – Deep Learning for Microscopy Image Analysis (EMBO-DL4MIA)

Description/Purpose:

Human Technopole (HT) is looking for sponsors to contribute to the Deep Learning for Microscopy Image Analysis (DL4MIA) course that will take place from May 8th to May 16th, 2024, with the support of the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO). EMBO is an organisation of more than 2,000 leading researchers that promotes excellence in the life sciences in Europe and beyond. One of the missions of the organisation is to fund courses and workshops that can significantly contribute to maintaining high standards of excellence in research practice.

The goal of the EMBO-DL4MIA Practical Course is to familiarise researchers working in the life sciences with state-of-the-art DL techniques for microscopy image analysis, including (but not limited to) image restoration, segmentation, translation, registration, and tracking.

The course will be composed of pre-course “fundamentals”, on-site lectures, tutorials, hands-on projects, and networking activities. The 24 selected participants will have the opportunity to learn about the technical aspects of deep learning and its applications from leading figures in the field of bioimage analysis, together with the support of the most promising newcomers who will join the course as full-time tutors.

The goal is to empower participants with the knowledge they need to develop their own DL-powered approaches in the context of their own research projects.

This EMBO-DL4MIA Practical Course is organised by Florian Jug, Research Group Leader and Head of the HT Image Analysis Facility (Italy), Anna Kreshuk, Group Leader of the Machine Learning for Bioimage Analysis Group at EMBL (Germany), Alexander Krull, Lecturer in Data Science and AI at the University of Birmingham (UK), and Beth Cimini, Group Leader at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard (USA).

By providing your sponsorship to the EMBO Practical Course – Deep Learning for Microscopy Image Analysis, you will have the opportunity to stay updated with the latest advancements in the use of deep learning for pushing the boundaries of image analysis.

You contribution will foster the international collaboration of talented scientists and promote their research towards the development of technologies that will change the way bioimage analysis is performed in the future.
