Human Technopole announces new President and Supervisory Board

Milan, 13 July 2022 – The Presidency of the Council of Ministers by means of a Decree signed on 7 July 2022 has appointed Professor Gianmario Verona, rector of Bocconi University in Milan, as the new President of the Supervisory Board of the Human Technopole Foundation. In its new composition, the Foundation’s Supervisory Board includes as new members Serena Sileoni, Francesca Pasinelli, Giuseppe Ippolito and Maura Francese who join the already appointed Giovanna Iannantuoni, Massimo Inguscio, Biagio Mazzotta, Maria Grazia Roncarolo, Gianluca Vago and Alessandro Vespignani and re-nominated Marcella Panucci.

“I am very honoured to be able to contribute in the coming years to the development of Human Technopole, a new excellence in the field of life sciences that strengthens Milan’s international vocation. The multidisciplinary approach, openness to computational sciences and data are the future, a future that has already begun here thanks to the work of researchers, the administrative support staff, director Iain Mattaj and my predecessor Marco Simoni.“, stated Gianmario Verona. “The impact of our frontier research and its contribution to personalised and preventive medicine will continue to grow also thanks to collaborations with other scientific institutes in an open science environment. To use a metaphor, in the next few years we will move from the start-up phase to the scale-up phase. The challenge I have before me, as an innovation scholar, is extremely fascinating and I thank the Prime Minister Mario Draghi, the HT Foundation and its founding members, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of University and Research and the Ministry of Health, for the prestigious role they have entrusted me with.”
