Maurizia Magro

Maurizia is a biologist with years of experience as a consultant and project assistant in the field of environmental protection. She worked in Italy as expert for asbestos risk assessment at the Chemical Laboratory of the Chamber of Commerce of Turin until 2009. After obtaining an additional master’s degree in sustainable development from University of Turin, she switched to the area of waste management.

In 2011, she moved to Germany where, after attending German language courses, she completed a vocational training as clinical research associate (CRA). She worked as a project assistant to evaluate the environmental sustainability of new technologies at the Institute for Future Studies and Technology Assessment (IZT, Berlin) and later as assistant to the head of the Department of Evolutionary Genetics at Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (IZW, Berlin).

In July 2020, she moved back to Italy to begin a new professional challenge as a research centre administrator at the HT Centre for Structural Biology.
