Call for the Standing Independent Evaluation Committee for HT’s National Facilities
The public notice for the pre-selection of experts with proven professional qualifications for the subsequent constitution – by appointment of the Supervisory Board of HT – of the Standing Independent Evaluation Committee (CIVP), for the evaluation of applications for access to the National Facilities implemented at the Foundation, was published today by the Ministries of University and Research and of Health.
Through the procedure, which will close on 2 September 2023, expressions of interest will be collected from distinguished scientists working in the following fields:
- Functional and population genomics
- Transcriptomics
- Structural biology
- Cancer biology and evolution
- Light microscopy and image analysis
- Computational biology
- Epidemiology
- Single-cell omics
- Epigenomics
- Genome engineering and stem cell biology

From RNA to proteins: AIRC supports Human Technopole’s new approaches to cancer research
Lorenzo Calviello and his group of the Human Technopole’s Research Centres for Genomics and Computational Biology have been awarded a five-year My First AIRC Grant by Fondazione AIRC per la Ricerca sul Cancro. The grant provides over €99,000 for 2026, for a total of €500,000, to support a project aimed at identifying cancer-specific proteins that could serve as new immunotherapy targets in colorectal cancer.

How sortilin senses thyroglobulin along its pathway to thyroid hormone release
Human Technopole researchers have identified the molecular mechanisms by which the membrane receptor sortilin binds thyroglobulin along its pathway to the release of thyroid hormones within the thyroid gland. The results of the research were published in Nature Communications and highlight that sortilin senses thyroglobulin via a short flexible “tag” which appears to be a common motif for the recognition of other partner proteins throughout our body.
