Technology Forum Life Sciences
25 September 2019 – Life Sciences represent one of the most promising hi-tech industries in Italy and has a significant growth potential in the medium to long term. Important results have been achieved in the recent years, but there is still a lot more that can be done to turn this Industry into a real engine for the country economic growth and competitiveness.
The fifth edition of the Forum is divided in two main sessions:
• Morning Session – “Fostering Innovation in Health Technologies and Life Sciences in Italy”: high level discussions aimed to provide a valuable contribute to the debate and concrete proposals to foster the development of the Life Sciences Industry in Italy, through the creation of an ecosystem of innovation.
• Afternoon Session, in collaboration with Ministry of Education, University and Research– “Restarting From InnovAgorà – From Business to Research”: 3 workshops directed to Italian researchers to discuss the key pillars to translate research into business.

First Marie Curie Fellowships for Human Technopole
Two Human Technopole researchers have been awarded the Marie Curie postdoctoral fellowship, one of the most prestigious fellowships for early career researchers: Dr. Carlos Jiménez and Dr. Albert Navarro Gallinad. Dr. Navarro Gallinad’s research project, presented today on National Women’s Health Day, will investigate the environmental risks faced by pregnant women by analysing almost 1,000,000 births in Lombardy over the last twelve years. Dr. Jiménez will study how the spatial arrangement of nuclear proteins contributes to optimal cell functioning.

Human Technopole Celebrates its First PhDs
Three young scientists from Human Technopole have, for the first time since its foundation, obtained a doctoral degree while pursuing their research within the institute: Alessandro Vinceti, Davide Castaldi, and Marco Tullio Rigoli, all enrolled in the systems medicine programme of the European School of Molecular Medicine (SEMM).

Research and Design Converge in Milan
Milan also means research, and this year Human Technopole is taking part in the city’s promotional campaign for the Milan Design Week, which will take place from 15 to 21 April 2024.
