The MIND behind: techtransfer dialogues – highlights
As part of the MIND Innovation Week, on May 11 2023, Human Technopole’s Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer (CITT) organised an event dedicated to technology transfer in life sciences, starting with a success story from the ecosystem of MIND – Milano Innovation District.
We gave space to the story of Beatrice Riva, researcher and co-founder of ChemICare (part of the Bio4Dreams ecosystem, a business nursery in the life sciences), a start-up at the frontier of the development of new therapies for calcium-related diseases.
Beatrice recounted the most important moments of the journey that saw her mature professionally and develop her entrepreneurial skills with great passion and enthusiasm, emphasising the importance of teamwork and the need for a team with a range of expertise for the project to get out of the lab and meet with market favour.
ChemICare’s story provided the next panel of experts in the field, moderated by Marica Nobile, Head of Institutional Relations at Human Technopole and CITT coordinator, with a number of ideas for discussion: Marcello Sarino, Technology Transfer Manager Enne3, Paola Bagnoli, Head of Technology Transfer IRCCS Galeazzi-Sant’Ambrogio, Francesco Cerruti, Director General Italian Tech Alliance, and Fabio Bianco, Chief Scientific Officer Bio4Dreams, all contributed to deepening crucial aspects of the process that takes research from lab to patients.
The event held on May 11 has been the first in a series of meetings promoted by CITT to strengthen relations between the various players in the MIND ecosystem and to make their success stories known to the outside world.
