The EU and Belgian Life Science Innovation Ecosystems, Brussels & Leuven | 4-5 Nov ’24

Human Technopole’s Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer (CITT) is organising a study tour to Belgium (Leuven and Brussels) on 4 and 5 November as part of its activities of international promotion and knowledge of European innovation ecosystems.

PROGRAMME

At the prestigious venue of the Permanent Representation of Italy to the EU, participants will attend a workshop with experts from the European institutions to gain an overview of the main tools and strategies that the EU makes available for research and innovation (e.g., European Innovation Agenda, European Innovation Council, European Investment Fund, etc.). This will be followed by a networking lunch with the speakers and some representatives of the European institutions.

Thanks to the Walloon Economic Representation – Wallonie-Brussels International, we will also visit the Brussels South Charleroi Biopark and the Biowin (Walloon Health Cluster) to learn more about the Belgian innovation ecosystem, its dynamics, policies and the most successful cases, such as the ATMPs.

We will conclude the trip with a visit to KU Leuven’s tech transfer, meeting its managers, Paul Van Dun and Bart Geers. Founded in 1972, the Research & Development – Technology Transfer Office of KU Leuven is among the oldest and most innovative in Europe.

The working languages will be English and Italian.

The full programme of the initiative is attached.

TARGET

The target of the initiative includes the Technology Transfer Officers (KTOs as well) of Italian research institutes, universities and IRCCSs, as well as profiles involved in the valorisation of intellectual property on the territory within the same or similar institutions.

Other professional profiles involved in innovation and R&D can also participate.
