Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer
At the end of 2020, the Italian Parliament gave Human Technopole the task of creating the Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer (CITT) to support more effective exploitation of research results and technological innovation in the Italian life sciences sector.
The first activities of the CITT, launched at the end of 2021, focused on three main areas:
Training
CITT organised several courses to enhance the entrepreneurial training of young Italian scientists operating in the life sciences. We offered dedicated intensive courses and motivational workshops to provide essential tools and valuable insights into the valorization of scientific research.
CITT organised, together with Nature, a successful conference on the “Future Trends in Translational Medicine”.
Networking
Our networking activity aims to create a stricter dialogue and interaction between technology transfer professionals in the life sciences on different topics, from open innovation processes to regulations, thus connecting the life sciences actors and stakeholders and encouraging the exchange of best practices.
International Promotion
CITT contributed to establishing closer links between the Italian science and technology community and international best practices by encouraging the interaction between the Italian tech transfer system and that of other countries, studying Tech Transfer models potentially applicable to Italy. We started with Switzerland and Austria and will proceed with other European and non-European countries.
